Geauga Lyric Theater Guild presents a Halloween Reader’s theater on October 26 and 27 at 7:00 p.m. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven, and The Tell-Tale Heart will all come to life as actors bring a dramatic reading of these spooky tales to the stage. Directed by Patty Osredkar, readers Grace Butcher, Donna Kane, Shane Wohlken, Damon Ramsey, Barbara Chirdron, and Bill Kennedy will gather with tales from long ago; stories and poems that promise to give you a thrill as well as a giggle or two. The evening will also include readings from Ray Bradbury and the cheery witches scene from MacBeth.
Earlier in the day on October 27 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., there will be a “Kids Mystery Theater”, perfect for those 12 and under. Children will be able to participate in interactive drama to solve a crime and then enjoy treats at the end. It will be a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to live theater. This event is $5.00 per child general admission. Reservations appreciated, but not required.
The historic Geauga Theater is located on beautiful Chardon Square at 101 Water Street in Chardon, Ohio. For more information on both events, or to purchase tickets for the Reader’s Theater, visit the website or call the box office 440-286-2255.
