The last week of January brings fun and fellowship to Catholic Schools all across the United States. It is a week set aside each year to recognize the difference students receive when educated in a faith-filled environment.

This year’s celebration was kicked off on Sunday Masses at St. Mary church lead by students and families. Following morning Masses, the parish was invited to join in a pancake breakfast and school Open House to further strengthen the bond between parish and the school community. This week, St. Mary students will celebrate with Crazy Hat & Sock Day, Pray for Peace Day, and a visit to their school from the science center COSI.

Did you know that Ohio is one of the top 10 states for Catholic school enrollment according to the National Catholic Educational Association? St. Mary students and families feel fortunate to know that they benefit from low pupil/teacher ratios inside their classrooms and are within the national average range of 14:1.

The NCEA reports Catholic school students’ national test scores, high school graduation rates, and college attendance rates frequently outperform those in the public and private sectors.

Enrollment is now open for K-8 students for the 2015 – 16 school year and open enrollment for the preschool program will be held Wednesday, February 11 6:00 – 7:30 pm in the ABC room of the school. Please call to set up a tour or for further questions: 286-3590 or mintihar@stmaryschoolchardon.org
