On January 24, the seventh and eighth grade students from St. Mary School competed in their third annual science fair. Science teacher Amber Yeager challenged the students to examine the world around them over their summer vacation and create three questions based on their observations.

Each student then individually researched topics, wrote out materials lists, created a procedure and performed the experiment. Students gathered evidence and formulated a conclusion.

During the science fair, each student presented their finished projects to a group of judges from the community. The first, second, and third place winners of St. Mary School fair will advance to the regional competition at Walsh Jesuit High School on Sunday, February 8.

If they place superior at Walsh, they will be invited to compete at The University of Akron in March.
