Mercury crosses between Earth and the sun on Veteran’s Day, Monday, November 11th, between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. If you’re off work or school, drop by Observatory Park any time during those hours to fully enjoy the Transit of Mercury, a rare “mini-eclipse” featuring a seldom-seen planet, and special Nature’s-Not-to-Be-Missed opportunity!
The last time this happened was in May 2016, but the next time won’t be until 2032!
Safe sun-viewing activities will be cancelled if weather conditions prevent us from viewing the sun. All are wheelchair/stroller accessible. Observatory Park is located at 10610 Clay Street in Montville. Please call ahead with questions.
