Before you know it, summer will only be a memory. Take time now to enjoy music outdoors, under the stars, on Chardon Square. The free concerts take place on Friday nights at 7 p.m., making it a wonderful opportunity for an impromptu date night. Or, pack up a picnic and enjoy a night of family fun.

On Friday, July 17, the Legends Band will take the stage playing fan favorite oldies from the 50s and 60s.

On July 24, the 730 Club will rock the park. The Ohio band performs soft rock, classic alternative, and soul, R&B, pop, and jazz music locally and nationally, playing original songs and covers spanning the last four decades.

On July 31, Reign Forecast, a contemporary Christian band, will take the stage. This local, hometown band is based at the Chardon United Methodist Church and features Paul Hagan and Tom Pokorny on guitar, Rich Venn on percussion and keys, Mark Kenyon on guitar and bass, Rick Fernandez on bass, and Katie Foster and Rachel Pastor on vocals.

On August 7, local favorite Northern Comfort Band will bring traditional country music to Chardon’s stage. On August 14, the Night School Band will be on hand with dance hits spanning from the 50s to the 80s, so grab your poodle skirt, or bust out your parachute pants and big hair for a night of fun. On August 21, Bluestone Union will set the stage with British invasion and classic rock tunes.

Weather permitting, all Friday night concerts are performed on the bandstand on Chardon Square at 7 p.m. So, grab your family, pack a picnic, or plan on picking up something fresh at the Chardon Farmers’ Market (which takes place from 4 – 8 p.m. every Friday at the square).

As summer finally heats up, it’s the perfect time to take in an outdoor concert. And, since the concerts in Chardon are free, you can invite your family and friends and get set for a summer evening full of great music.
