The first red, ripe strawberries will appear in their sweet splendor on June 3. The folks at Ridgeview Farm are very busy this time of year because prime strawberry picking will be occurring from June 12 thru June 27. Pick-your-own strawberries will begin around June 12 and the farm market hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Picking strawberries is a great family activity that is low cost. We believe that consumers are looking for inexpensive experiences closer to home this summer and Ridgeview Farm offers that! The customer that wants to pick his or her own strawberries will save over $1.00 a quart. Farmer Steve Grover encourages customers to phone the farm at 440-693-4000 for the most up-to-date field conditions. The fields are open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to Noon and is located in Mesopotamia Township, (3 ½ miles East of Middlefield) at 5488 Kinsman Rd, right on State Route 87, on top of Mespo Hill.
Ridgeview Farm’s strawberries are plentiful this year, and we urge our customers to pick them them by the basketful! Ridgeview Farm is close to families in Trumbull, Cuyahoga, Geauga and Ashtabula Counties.
“Sweeter, fresher, juicier so makes the mark of a good strawberry! We pick our strawberries fresh at the peak of sweetness and sell them to our customers the same day,” explains Grover.
The farm invites parents to bring their children to the field. The Grovers encourage parents to teach their children how to pick the sweetest berries.
