Swim with the Fishies at Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve

The serene waters of Best Lake are perfect for amazing views of colorful sunfish, painted turtles, seldom-seen plants of all shapes and sizes, freshwater mussels and other aquatic life.

Seize this annual opportunity to see them from an underwater perspective!

Discover Underwater Life Through Snorkeling returns to Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve on Sunday, August 6th, with opportunities at 11:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 1:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Registration and a $25.00 fee for instruction is required for this rain-or-shine program at Geauga Park District or 440-286-9516. Each time slot can take up to six people, ages 8 and up. You may bring your own equipment and wetsuits or they will be provided.

Created by a former quarry, Best has a crystal-clear quality not found at many other Park District lakes, and by August has warmed to a downright cozy level. Spots can fill fast for this once-a-year opportunity, so sign up and mark your calendars today!
