The Mastery of an Artist

This display of Florian K. Lawton’s work is so special, his son Ken, managing partner of the Florian K. Lawton Foundation, will be on hand to meet all who attend its opening.

The Mastery of Florian K. Lawton: A Retrospective will be held on Friday, June 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. at The West Woods Nature Center in Russell Township.

Visitors will find a collection of some of Florian’s best nature-inspired artwork, as well as his outstanding Amish culture paintings and drawings, gracing the walls of The West Woods Nature Center’s Oak Room beginning the evening of June 7.

These will include examples from public collections and private collections, such as the Hiram College and Miller Family collections. Of works sold during the length of the show, a portion of sales will benefit the Amish Heritage Center, Hiram College, and Geauga Park District.

Light refreshments by Sara’s in Gates Mills will be served at the show opening, which is free to attend. Artwork will then remain on display daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. till July 24.
