The Road to Adoption: Rescue Village’s Barn Program

Rescue Village’s barn program serves all horses and farm animals that are brought in by the humane officer from situations of abuse, neglect or abandonment, providing immediate shelter and rehabilitative support. This support is given until these horses and farm animals are healthy enough to be adopted or fostered offsite.

Petyr is a horse that came to the Rescue Village in July of 2014 through a humane case. He was very underweight and appeared to be neglected. Just recently, Petyr was adopted by a family in Pennsylvania and now lives on a ranch – happy and healthy!

Interested in donating time or supplies? Rescue Village takes donations of hay, bags of feed, bales of straw and other items. Additionally, you can volunteer your time by becoming a barn volunteer, fostering one of our loving barn friends or aiding in the transport of large farm animals by using your personal trailer. Lastly, Rescue Village also takes monetary donations that will help care for these animals and offset veterinary expenses. For more information and the full donation list please visit the Rescue Village website.
