This Free Community Festival Is Just Around the Corner!

It’s 103 years old.
It’s something that happens the second week of August.
It has a ‘best legs’ contest…uhhh…for men!

What is it??

It’s the Troy Homecoming Festival and it is definitely coming…..very soon!

1911 was the beginning of this free community festival. I doubt many thought it would be around 103 years later, but it’s still as popular as ever. Sure, it’s changed, but the old-fashioned fun and community spirit still runs high.

A day at this festival will effectively remove you from the hurry-up-and-get-it-done world we live in. And if you are brave, leave your phone at home and really experience the full refreshment of being around other people and enjoying their company, neighborly conversation, and even a friendly game of cornhole or horseshoes. Forget the agendas, and aggravations that often go along with them, and take a short trip backwards in time for a day to rekindle small town fellowship.

Plenty of family oriented entertainment and activities including the Wallnut Hill Cloggers from the 8th Count Dance Studio. More can be seen on the event schedule below. Local businesses will be on the grounds for you to get acquainted with or, if you are already familiar with them, just stop by and say hello.

There’s still time become a participant or volunteer. How about taking part as a sponsor or vendor? Contest descriptions, as well as the sponsor and contest registration forms are below. Some deadlines are fast approaching: the talent show application must be in by July 26!

A 10’ x 10’ outdoor booth space is available for free to non-profit organizations. Take advantage and fund raise for your cause. Provide games, information, product, or a service. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

A Vendor Information Packet and Vendor Registration Form can be found HERE.

Businesses for profit are asked to donate an item(s) valued at $20.00 for the Chinese auction per 10′ x 10′ outdoor space during the duration of this year’s Troy Homecoming weekend.

Tent, chairs, tables, etc. are NOT provided. Electric hook up is limited. Visit the contact page on their website for details.

A big thank you goes out to Troy Manufacturing for being a platinum sponsor, once again! Your generosity is very appreciated.

Keep the weekend of August 8 – 10 open so you can take a journey backwards. I reckon it’ll do ya some lastin’ good!
