Traveling Astronomy Nights are Coming to Middlefield and Munson

Join members of the Chagrin Valley Astronomical Society to ignite your interest and excitement about our amazing night sky by observing it in a couple special parks this spring!

Geauga Park District’s Astronomy Nights with CVAS will be hosted at Swine Creek Reservation in Middlefield on Saturday, May 19th, 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., and at Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve in Munson on Saturday, June 16th, 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Anyone interested can stop in any time during these programs, which will be partially wheelchair/stroller accessible depending on the activities chosen. A variety of telescopes will be on hand for everyone to use, offering opportunities to get a closer look at objects in the night sky.

Activities will be canceled if cloudy; call 440-279-0880 the day of the program after 3:00 p.m. to check their status.

The Chagrin Valley Astronomical Society was founded in 1963 for the purposes of increasing the astronomical knowledge and technique of its members and for public service in our community. Society goals are promotion of public education in astronomy, the continuation of useful research, and the preservation of unpolluted skies for future use of both the astronomer and the general public.
