Ugly Christmas Sweater Contests Make for Festive Classrooms

It’s not Christmas without an ugly sweater party and staff at Jordak Elementary and students and staff at Cardinal Middle School all got to participate in the festivities!

At Jordak, Nurse Christine Gardner took home top honors, while Kindergarten teachers Mrs. Dyer and Mrs. Derecskey took home second and third place respectively.

At the middle school, the competition was a little more intense with each grade level and staff members participating. Top grade level winners were whittled down to one from each grade, and those winners then went head-to-head against each other.

The top student winner was sixth grader Mattison M., and the staff winner was Miss Orlando – both received a cookie decorating kit as their prize! Grade level contestants included:

Fifth grade: Madison H., Josh S. (winner), and Sophia S.

Sixth grade: Justine B., Mattison M. (winner), Elinor R., and Olivia W.

Seventh grade: Sam L. (winner), Daisy R., and Daisy Y.

Eighth grade: Kaitlyn & Paige B., Michael M. (winner), Sydney S., and Emma T.
