Why You Should Drink Coffee Everyday

Coffee is a magical thing, and everyone’s go-to drink in the morning. How many times did you grow up hearing the phrase, “Not ‘till I’ve had my morning coffee,” in your house? So many people can’t function without their morning cup of Joe, and it’s no doubt everyone’s favorite morning drink. And, as it turns out, there might even be a science behind why so many people drink coffee in the morning.

1. May Make You More Intelligent

The extra boost of energy the caffeine gives you helps improve how you function in the morning. It also helps your brain work in a better, smarter way by helping it wake up a bit. Coffee can help to enhance some of the functions associated with higher intelligence: logical reasoning, attention, reaction time, and many other things that help make you look (and feel) smarter!

2. Increases Athletic Performance

Drinking a cup of coffee before your morning workout can help give you that extra jolt of energy that you need for it. The caffeine in coffee increases the amount of fatty acids in your blood stream, which helps you burn fat and save energy during your workout. This is especially useful during endurance sports and exercises, like running, jogging and cycling.

3. Helps Your Heart

Some of the compounds and ingredients in coffee can help to lower your blood pressure. Not only that, but the antioxidants can help inflamed arteries. But, this is all to be taken with a grain of salt. Too much caffeine is associated with heart disease and counteracts what the antioxidants are doing.

4. Provides a Memory Boost

In addition to making you more intelligent in the morning, it also helps your memory. Again, this can be attributed to the caffeine found in coffee. When it helps you be more awake and alert, it also helps to enhance the parts of your brain responsible for memory and concentration. But, according to One Medical, it is unknown how long these memories skills should last.

5. Makes You Happier

Apparently coffee really does make you happier. The National Institute of Health discovered that people who drink four or more cups of coffee a day were 10% less likely to be depressed than non-coffee drinkers. Why is uncertain, but perhaps it has something to do with the caffeine. Whatever the reason, we all know that coffee is the best way to start your day.
