The Great Geauga County Fair starts Thursday! But for Jr. Fair participants who own animals, they will begin moving in before that. Those who have market animals have spent all year working toward this annual event and are excited to see what kinds of profits they will receive at the auction that will take place on Saturday.
All fair attendees are invited to participate in this fun annual auction. Whether an individual or a business, it’s so important to support the efforts of these young people who have invested themselves faithfully into their projects and have learned many valuable life lessons. Supporting local youth and acknowledging the qualities of a dedicated work ethic which will ultimately be returned to the community, or another fortunate community, cannot ever be deemed insignificant. Many local Geauga County businesses have purchased animals at these auctions over the decades that have allowed the thriving 4-H livestock clubs to continue and contribute to the enormous success of the Great Geauga County Fair – now in its 191st year!
One such business is The Middlefield Banking Company (MB). With a 112 year history, MB has established a reputation as a very involved neighborhood bank. As Tom Neikirk, West Branch Manager says, “The one thing that always brings a smile to my face each and every day is the PEOPLE. The relationships that are built through the Middlefield Banking community are priceless.” That’s why they participate in and support local events including the livestock auction at the fair! They believe in the truth that strong relationships build strong communities.
Below are a few of the recent requests they have received from area youth whose animals will be at the auction this year. Middlefield Bank will most certainly be in the crowd on Saturday night, bidding away on these choice animals to make their annual purchases. Not only will they support these youth, but they will also distribute the meat to their employees as a thank you to their dedication to the bank. Everyone wins at The Middlefield Banking Company – the customers, the youth in the community, and the employees!
Consider these as personal invites from these Geauga County youth, many of whom have invested a significant part of their lives to these 4-H projects.
The small animal auction is held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the auction tent and the larger animals at 5 p.m. in the arena.
