Saturday, November 6, 2020
1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (note alternate time)

Burton Wetlands Nature Preserve
15681 Old Rider Road
Burton, Ohio 44021

Only 5 spaces remain to join the Foundation on a back-country adventure to the heron nesting area located on land owned by the City of Akron and viewable from Burton Wetlands Nature Preserve. This is a special excursion for the hearty hiker that can only take place off-season when nests are not occupied. This is an off-trail, rugged two-mile hike to the nesting site and back. Terrain is not hilly, but may be uneven, wet and muddy. Dress for the weather and wear hiking boots.

Pre-registration is required and attendance is limited to 27 people (9 or fewer with each naturalist).   Request your spot by emailing the Foundation at admin@foundationforgeaugaparks.org with the program title in the subject line. Include your name, address, email and phone in the body of the message.

Our group will meet in the parking lot and practice social distancing. We will split into teams of 10 or fewer to hike. Please:

– wear face coverings
– keep distance of 6 feet between you and other walkers
– bring your own water bottle and binoculars if needed
