Annie

Annie

Are you looking for a friendly giant? Annie may be the girl you’ve been looking for! Annie is a Great Dane and Greyhound mix weighing 110 pounds. She’s full of love for dogs and children alike, and her favorite activity is her evening walk. She is 99% house broken and knows how to “sit” and “give paw”. Her previous owners had nothing but glowing things to say about Annie and what a sweet, affectionate companion she is. However, due to an illness in the family, they became unable to care for her anymore. Annie is a very loving and loyal companion who really wants to find that special family she can call hers Forever.

Fern

Fern

Fern is an absolute sweetie! She is 6 years young and has plenty of energy to keep you busy! When Fern arrived, she was very busy herself, caring for 6 pups. Her babies have since been adopted to wonderful families, and Fern is excited to get back into her regular routine again! Fern LOVES to play and needs lots of time and space to do so! Since Fern likes to play rough, we are asking that she go to a home with older teens, and no cats. Come meet this fun loving girl and fall in love today!

jezzabell

Jezzabell

Hey there! My name is Jezzabell. You can call me Jezzy for short! I am a beautiful tiger. I was abandoned by my family when they moved. I headed to the neighbor’s house and was cared for, but I didn’t like their cats! So, here I am –  looking for a new family! I am a sweet, affectionate girl. I purr and love to be petted. I also absolutely LOVE to chase LASER lights! Because I try to dominate other cats in my life, I will probably do best as the only cat in the family. Come on in and check me out! I am a beauty!

Gilroy and Alameda

Gilroy and Alameda

This is our young man, Gilroy. He is a unique looking tiger with an assortment of stripes and spots. He has a thin face and dreamy looking eyes! Gilroy came from a home with 20+ other cats. He didn’t get all of the attention that he wanted! So, at first, he may act a little shy; but that can be conquered quickly and easily with treats! He is a sweet playful boy that gets along with other cats well. Currently, he is rooming with his best bud, Alameda. If you are looking for two cats that already know and love each other, here they are!

One thing we know for sure is that Alameda gets along with other cats! She was living with about 25-30 for the first year of her life. She is a tiger cutie with a white “bib” and four white paws. She absolutely loves to play and is very grateful to now have toys of her own. She is a sweet, playful, affectionate young lady who is currently “rooming” with Gilroy. Alameda would love to go home with Gilroy if possible! Come on in to meet her!

Phillip

Phillip

It was below freezing in the month of January, and a pot-bellied pig had been sighted multiple times in the woods and in yards along Sperry Rd. in Newbury. A family living on that road made a tent shelter for the stray pig, which he started inhabiting for naps and snacks before heading back into the woods without being caught. Our humane agent went out multiple times trying to find the pig and bring him in from the cold, and not until the ground was covered in snow was he able to follow the diligent tracks of Phillip. Finally, the family was able to coax him into their barn, and Rescue Village staff was able to pick him up and bring him back to the shelter where a warm straw stall and plentiful food awaited him. Phillip is a shy gentle giant who resembles Eeyore in personality and physique. He is not comfortable with being touched, unless he is eating one of his favorite meals, but he is slowly becoming more and more social. He keeps a tidy stall, and loves to bundle himself up in blankets and straw to sleep under his heat lamp. Phillip also enjoys exploring outside and is very talkative. We have not put him with another pig since he was neutered, but we believe with the right integration, he will enjoy having the company. He is up to date on vaccines and has been seen by a vet numerous times. Meeting Phillip is by appointment only, and you can do so by calling 440.3384819 ex. 11 or ex. 41. You will love this sweet guy!

Zoey

Zoey

Zoey came to us from a major case of neglect where she was starved and near death.

She needs an experienced owner who is willing to spend a great deal of time earning her trust and continuing with the type of training she has been given while under our care.

Zoey has been in professional training off-site for several months, and after only two weeks under saddle, she showed potential for Pleasure, Dressage, and Trail riding. Due to her history of neglect, she has some soundness issues in her joints and will not be suitable for a heavy rider or jumping. With the right maintenance plan (joint supplements, regular hoof trimming, and veterinary guidance) she should thrive as an active mount.
Zoey needs a confident rider who is patient and experienced with spirited mounts; she is best suited for an intermediate young adult rider or higher.

She is very willing to please and enjoys being ridden and pampered (grooming, bathing, clipping).
She bonds very quickly and intensely with other horses and would do best in a barn with one or more horses and have frequent contact and pasture time with them.

Zoey is currently in foster and not at location at the Rescue Village Barn. If you are interested in seeing her, please contact Christian @ 440-338-4819 x 41 to schedule and appointment to meet her.
