Kiwanis Club of Chardon Awards Scholarships

The Kiwanis Club of Chardon is pleased to announce the awarding of our 2014 scholarships. The scholarships that Kiwanis Club of Chardon awards each year are made possible through various activities, which include the sale of maple syrup products in the spring and the annual trivia night in the fall.

This year’s scholarships were awarded at the recent meeting attended by over 32 members and guests at Deep Woods Pavilion located in Big Creek Park. The recipients were students at Chardon High School and included Robert Bukovec, Chandler Ross, Joy Shaffer, and Racheal Wattleworth.

The Kiwanis strongly believes that even one person can help their community through volunteering. Each recipient of this year’s scholarships is involved in our community through the participation in extracurricular activities and volunteering.

“Being able to award scholarships is one of the most rewarding experiences of being a member of the Kiwanis Club of Chardon,” said chairperson of the Scholarship Committee Frank Elliott. “The Kiwanis Club of Chardon wishes each student success in their future educational endeavors.”

Look for more announcements about this year’s trivia night, which is November 15 at the Kirtlander in Kirtland.
