Take paths less traveled to some of Geauga Park District’s most wonderful discoveries by registering for naturalist-led Backcountry Hikes this spring!
The protected preserve portion of The Rookery in Munson Township welcomes you on Sunday, April 26, from 1 to 4 p.m., while Welton Gorge in Burton Township will be your hiking host on Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to noon – both offering off-trail adventures into rock ledges, ravines and cool streams with salamanders and other forms of interesting stream life.
Registration is required for both hikes. Please visit the Geauga Park District website or call 440-286-9516.
Backcountry hikers must be physically capable of enduring several miles of rugged terrain and prepared for slippery, difficult terrain, so please wear sturdy footwear with good traction and dress for the weather, rain or shine.
