Chardon Toastmasters has moved from the Munson Township Hall to a new location on Chardon Square. The weekly meetings, every Thursday at 6:30 p.m., will now be held in the recently remodeled office of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy located at 102-C East Park Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024. This is just south of the Chardon Public Library.
Amy Patterson, part owner of “Jane Austen Books” and a published author, was the first speaker at the new location. Patterson spoke on the history of Chardon with a slide presentation showing the many changes Chardon Square has undergone since 1808. “Learning about the history of Chardon just helps us to feel more connected to our new location,” Patterson said when asked about her choice of topic. Patterson, her husband and 2 young sons have lived in the Chardon area since 2011. A member of Chardon Toastmasters since 2013, Patterson has served as Club President for the 2014-2015 Toastmaster year.
