Bluebird_on_House FB

From protecting your legs from the snow, to giving tiny blue birds a place to call home, to creating a landscape you can enjoy year-round, to maple sugaring, come out to your Geauga Park District this winter – we’ll show you how it’s done.

Sew Your Own Gaiters Workshop (School age and up)

Fee: $20

Saturday, Jan. 16, 1-3 p.m., Big Creek Park’s Donald W. Meyer Center in Chardon Twp.

Sew your own pair of waterproof gaiters to help keep your feet dry when snowshoeing, skiing or tromping through the deepest snow. We’ll provide the materials – you provide the sense of adventure! Bring your own sewing machine or borrow one or ours.

Make a Bluebird House (School age and up w/adult)

Fee: $10

Saturday, Feb. 6, 1-3 p.m., Big Creek Park’s Donald W. Meyer Center in Chardon Twp.

Build and take home a house that any bluebird would be proud to call home! We’ll also give you some pointers on where and when to place your birdhouse to attract bluebirds – and thwart rivals! We’ll be assembling using hammers, nails and glue. Your fee covers all supplies; please register “by the birdhouse” rather than “by the person.”

Winter Wonderland & Wine (Age 21+)

Fee: $24

Saturday, Feb. 27, 6-9 p.m., The West Woods Nature Center in Russell Twp.

Join artist Carlene Exline to paint a beautiful winter landscape on an 8×10″ board suitable for framing, while enjoying wine, cheese and great company! This step-by-step instruction requires absolutely no painting experience. Your fee covers all materials and refreshments.

Maple 101 Workshop (School age and up)

Fee: Free

Saturday, March 5, 9 a.m. – noon, Swine Creek Reservation in Middlefield Twp.
