Experience Nature’s explosion of springtime activity
Geauga Park District Naturalist John Kolar says April evenings are absolutely exploding with activity.
Want to see for yourself? Join him for a fantastic spring adventure along the Eldon Russell Nature Trail, experiencing first-hand this natural explosion.
April Evening Adventure will be held on Saturday, April 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eldon Russell Park, 16315 Rapids Road, Troy Township.
In the case of a hike along the beautiful Upper Cuyahoga River like this one, activity may be defined as spring peeper piping, barred owl bantering, beaver tail slapping, heron flapping, and maybe even a spectacular American woodcock air show, part of this pudgy, football-sized bird’s springtime mating behavior.
John said this is a memorable, not-to-be-missed hike for families, though not wheelchair/stroller accessible. Just be prepared for the unpredictable spring weather and potentially muddy trail conditions with some standing water. Waterproof foot gear is highly recommended!
Registration is not required; with questions, call 440-286-9516.
