Bainbridge Library to Host “Day of Horror” Family Event

Calling all goblins, witches and ghouls! Get your troll game on and head to Bainbridge Library for a howling good “Day of Horror” Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Join the games all day long and get your photo taken as you perfect your horrific Halloween look.

Schedule of events:

10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Games and ongoing activities

  • Find the vampire: A blood-thirsty vampire is hiding in the building. Find him to win a candy bar.
  • Lasso the spider: A ring toss game.
  • Ghostbusters: How good of a ghostbuster are you? Our Casper-the-Ghost Velcro board needs a bullseye.
  • Frankentoys: Turn old dolls into zombies; parents can make gourd decorations.
  • Escape the spider’s web: Slither out before Spidey catches sight of you.
  • Guess the creepy crawlies: Using only your hands (no eyes) identify the creepy creatures in the boxes.
  • Eyeball relay: Join in this rousing race.
  • Halloween limbo: How low can you go?
  • Costume contest: Prizes for kids, teens and adults.
  • Movie and popcorn: Enjoy a horrifically fun flick – looped all day.
  • Bainbridge Bigfoot will be in the house for selfie shots.

10:30 a.m. – Learn the best way to look horrific with help from a theatrical make-up artist.

11 a.m. – Choose a design and get a frightening face from a face painter.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Photo booth with zombies, mummies, witches and ghosts; instantly share images on social media. No number limit.

1 p.m. – Scream contest. Can you belt out a good, old-fashioned scream? Let’s hear it!

3 p.m. – “Thriller” dance: Learn the choreography to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Help us create the largest community dance ever! Join the entire monster world as we bust out the best zombie moves to this classic Halloween song. Participants are encouraged to dress as zombies, witches, warlocks and other ghostly creatures.

4 p.m. – “Thriller” dance performance. International groups will be uploading their footage of this iconic Halloween dance at the same time. Make social media history and join in the fun.

Candy, games and prizes will be available all day!
