Recent changes in transmission rates have resulted in significant increases in electricity costs for most First Energy customers. In addition, First Energy’s proposed mechanism to recover costs associated with its interest in several generating facilities has the potential to increase electric bills over a three-year term. Brakey Energy believes that it is important for First Energy customers to understand the impact these changes will have on electricity costs.

This presentation, First Energy Rates: Changes Challenges & Opportunities, will take place on Friday, Oct. 23 at Kent State Universtiy at Geauga. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the program will take place from 8 – 9:30 a.m.

Find out how large energy users in Geauga County are being affected by these rate increases, and what they can to do to lower their electric bills in the face of these rate hikes.

Matt Brakey, President of Brakey Energy, will discuss strategies that include electric generation procurement, capacity cost management, emergency demand response, minimizing costs associated with Ohio’s energy efficiency mandates, and many others.

Brakey’s presentation is part of a continuing series of educational events for GGP Members and Geauga businesses sponsored by GGP’s Infrastructure Task Force, chaired by John Epprecht (Great Lakes Cheese).
