On Wednesday May 20, the 8th grade class from Berkshire Jr/Sr High School visited area businesses to learn about careers. The trip included visits to Troy Innovative Instruments, Great Lakes Cheese and University Hospital. The students were taken on a tour of Troy Innovative Instruments by machine operators and engineers who explained what they do and how the machines work. Troy Innovative Instruments creates medical implants.
At Great Lakes Cheese everyone learned about the cheese making process and how the finished product is distributed nationwide to vendors and supermarkets.
University Hospital doctors, nurses, radiology staff, EMT’s conducted a mock emergency room drill. After the drill the staff explained their roles and highlighted the different jobs they perform in the hospital.
We want to thank these companies and the Geauga Growth Partnership for offering this opportunity to our Berkshire students!
