COSI VISITS JES
COSI Columbus’ Dynamic Hands-On Science Center visited JES February 13 and 14. This year their presentation and experiments were focused on chemistry. Scholars took part in a short assembly to explain the science behind chemistry and then each grade level got a turn to come back to the gym to participate in the various experiments that were set up. This year scholars used microscopes to identify powders, compared/identified chemical and physical changes, wrote secret messages using ink and washing soda, mixed solids and liquids to produce gas, explored pH ranges, experienced chemical reactions, investigated density, and created slime! All experiments were led and supervised by our wonderful Jordak PTO volunteers, parents, and high school scholars. Our pups really enjoyed seeing the science close up and participating in the exciting experiments! Thank you to our PTO for once again bringing the magic to us!

100 DAYS OF SCHOOL
It’s everyone’s favorite milestone – 100 days of school! Even though the actual 100th day was back in January, our Kindergarten and first graders marked the big day on February 14th by dressing up and completing activities involving the number 100! Our teachers really get into the spirit too and always come up with some amazing outfits! Scholars have also been working hard on their 100 day projects – which are all proudly on display in the halls of JES.
