Literary Cleveland to Present Free Staged Reading on Truth

March 21 & 22, 2020 at CSU Student Center

Literary Cleveland is presenting a free staged reading in March titled Why Truth Matters as part of the annual Cleveland Humanities Festival.

The show features original work by 21 local writers and will be performed by professional actors under the direction of renowned local actor and director Ananias J. Dixon.
The readings include poems, essays, and short dramatic pieces investigating hard truths, uncomfortable truths, gospel truths, and outright lies within the context of the post-truth era. Taken as a whole, the performance asks viewers to reflect on the meaning and importance of truth from many different perspectives, from the personal to the political, from the comedic to the tragic, from truths that touch on families and communities to truths that shake entire nations.
This is the third year that Literary Cleveland has participated in the Cleveland Humanities Festival, which is co-sponsored by Cleveland State University and the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities.
Two performances will be held of the staged reading on Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, at 7 PM, in the ballroom at the Cleveland State University Student Center, 2121 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio. Admission is free, reservations are requested at https://www.litcleveland.org/events-programs/why-truth-matters.
