Youth: hunt for eggs and amphibians this spring
Celebrating spring? Need some things to do? Pay attention to these clues.
On a rhyming scavenger hunt you can go, discovering eggs-cellent facts you did not know!
What: Egg Hunt: Nature Style
When: Saturday, April 12 , 2014 – 1 to 4 p.m.
Where: The West Woods Nature Center
9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87), Russell Twp.
All ages can join in any time during program hours by picking up a scavenger hunt card with questions about egg-laying animals. Use the card to locate plastic eggs, both inside the nature center and out on the trail, containing answers. Each completed card earns a fun prize!

Amphibians Are Awake In Vernal Pools and Ponds!
What: Nature Explorers: Amphibian Awakening (Ages 6-8 & 9-11)
When: Saturday, April 12 – 10 a.m. to Noon
Where: The West Woods Nature Center

Indeed, we’re not the only ones done with winter hibernation and excited for spring. Salamanders and frogs fill the air with their calls and the pools with their eggs! Both age groups’ programs will include an indoor introduction, followed by up-close outdoor exploration of this awesome springtime phenomenon. Registration is required for this drop-off program online or by calling 440-286-9516.
