Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) will resume the National Park Scenic excursion and other special events starting on January 19, 2019.
The popular National Park Scenic excursion will run two loops on Saturdays and Sundays from January 19th through April 28th out of Rockside, Peninsula, and Akron Northside stations. Passengers will enjoy a two-and-a-half-hour train ride through Cuyahoga Valley National Park in historic train cars.
Guests can choose from a variety of seating options for the National Park Scenic excursion, including: coach, tabletop, suites, lounge, first-class, dome, executive and caboose. A coach ticket is an all-day pass where passengers can deboard at any station and re-board at a later time. Departure times for the National Park Scenic excursion vary based on station.
CVSR has included more Ales on Rails™ and Grape Escape excursions in 2019. Guests will be served five beer or wine samples as they make their way through Cuyahoga Valley National Park. On board, passengers will learn about each sample’s characteristics such as body, aroma, bouquet and finish. A selection of appetizers will be provided, and commemorative tasting glasses are included. Guests can choose from a variety of seating options including suites, lounge, dome, first class, table and coach. “The beer and wine tastings are always very popular, and we’re really excited to provide more seating options this year in the California Zephyr dome cars and private suites,” said CVSR Director of Events, Danny Napolitano. “Passengers always have a blast and, with changing themes, there’s always something for everyone.”
CVSR will also present Friday night event trains throughout the year which will include: Murder Mystery Trains, Canvas and Wine on the Rails, Dinner on the Train with Spice, Mixology, Emerging Brews and Explorations in Wine. Family-friendly excursions like Family Fun Loop, Superheroes on the Train, and Royalty on the Rails will also be offered in 2019.
