There are two ways to sponsor a High School Student:
#1 – High School Summer Internship Program
Who: High School Juniors & Seniors
What: The Summer Internship Program was developed as a means to build connections between businesses and their future workforce. Student applicants earn real-world, 6-8 week, paid summer internships with sponsoring businesses. GGP staff coach students through the process and conduct two summer workshops for additional training in soft skills, workplace behavior, team-building and finance management.
Results: All students completing a summer internship report lessons learned and personal improvements made on the job, which they present during a final recognition event at the conclusion of their internships. On average, 41% of sponsoring businesses continue employment relationships with interns after completion of the program, as reported in feedback from employers and students.
2 – School-year Internship Program
Who: High School Seniors
What: The School-year Internship Program, in its pilot stage, is designed to match high-school seniors who are eligible for early dismissal from school with employers seeking interns during the school year. This is an excellent opportunity for students who may not be planning to enter college immediately after high school graduation. [This is a NEW program.
