People everywhere are taking a more natural approach to taking caring for themselves and their families. Now, instead of automatically reaching for an over-the-counter medication to ease the discomfort of a headache, aid in restful sleep, or boost energy, some choose to turn to essential oils first. And with good reason, since essential oils have been used throughout history, in many cultures for medicinal and therapeutic benefits.

A desire to raising her family using natural solutions is what initially attracted Evergreen Essentials owner Dawn Mighton to investigate the use of essential oils. When her youngest son was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called NF1, she embraced essential oil treatments as a proactive way to help manage her son’s condition without relying solely on synthetic medications. Through her research, she identified alternative treatments. She explained, “I’m able to use safer, natural treatments first, before heading straight to something man-made, which may have potentially harmful side-effects.”

At her new shop in Madison, she’ll host an essential oils introduction class on Monday, June 29 at 7 pm to show how you can incorporate these natural oils into your life. If you’d like to find out how to use essential oils to relieve stress and anxiety, reduce toxic build-up, ease digestive upset, and achieve overall balance and wellness, than plan to attend this informative class.

Then, on Tuesday, June 30, she’ll offer a make-and-take event where participants will have the opportunity to create a personalized blend of oils for specific needs: like a sleep aid, headache relief, after sun or bug stick blends. The mixture will be packaged in a rollerball, a small glass tube topped with a rolling applicator that holds the essential and carrier oils and a carrier oil and makes a user-friendly treatment.

You’ll need to RSVP for the Rollerball class so that adequate supplies will be on hand. Future class offerings include an Aroma Touch class, which combines the benefits of essential oils and targeted massage techniques to aid with stress, immune support and pain management. Essential oils appealing fragrance can calm the senses and improve moods, however, many oils are also naturally antimicrobial and have powerful cleansing properties. Evergreen Essentials features products for the home and body products that feature essential oils aromatherapy and cleansing properties, as well as a variety of repurposed and decorative items.
