Thompson Ledges Township Park
16755 Thompson Rd,
Join the Foundation for a visit to one of Geauga County’s less traveled natural treasures – Thompson Ledges Township Park. Thompson Township’s Jim Schafer will meet with the group to share park history, as well as plans and aspirations for the property. We will gather at the overlook and descend the stairs to base of the outcropping.
Because of current health restrictions mandated by the State of Ohio, face coverings are required, and participants are asked to maintain distances of six feet between themselves and others.
Thompson Ledges Township Park features a large outcropping of Sharon Conglomerate sandstone ledges, picnic shelter and viewing area, with stairs leading to the base of the outcropping.
The citizens of Thompson established the first park district in Geauga County in 1940. The park is open sun up to sun down.
The Foundation for Geauga Parks Explorers Series was established so park lovers may join us each month to explore a different park in Geauga County by boot, bike, paddle, or skis.
