Fair Housing Resource Center Announces Buddy Bench Winners

Painesville, Ohio – The Fair Housing Resource Center, Inc would like to congratulate the winners of our Buddy Bench contest! In March of 2021 Fair Housing Resource Center, Inc., a non-profit agency located in Painesville, launched a contest in Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula Counties to nominate their school to win a free Buddy Bench for their school. A Buddy Bench promotes friendship, inclusion, and kindness for children during recess.  By allowing students who are new, shy, or don’t have friends to sit on the bench in hopes that other students will see and allow them to join in their play. One personalized bench was awarded to each winning school in each county, for a total of three (3) benches, as follows:

Lake County – Edison Elementary School in Willoughby

Geauga County – Westwood Elementary School in Novelty; and

Ashtabula County – Pymatuning Valley Elementary School in Andover.

“We were so pleased by the tremendous response from the community,” said Patricia Kidd, Executive Director of the Fair Housing Center. “We are happy to bring a little bit of joy to people in these trying times. Again, Congratulations!”
