We have been enjoying a busy and invigorating start to 2020. Our board and staff have been busily working on strategic planning and we are eager to share with you the future direction of GGP at our Annual Meeting on May 6th. We are thankful to all of those who have provided input thus far and we encourage you to complete the surveys that will be coming your way soon as part of this process. According to the state of Ohio, 2019 was a banner year for new business filings in Ohio. Feel free to read more about it here.
In addition, based on the manufacturing report that was released today by MAGNET, manufacturing is growing in Northeast Ohio again. Of those surveyed, 72% expect revenue to go up in 2020 and 94% of manufacturers reported that they are actively innovating to drive growth. However, their inability to hire employees is holding back growth and based on responses, it is surmised that our region is falling behind on industry 4.0. GGP looks forward to working with our partners in the region to support Geauga’s manufacturing base, so that we can continue to grow the local economy.
Kudos to all of the companies investing in their employee base by helping them to develop new skills and knowledge. Zig Ziglar once said, “You don’t build a business, you build people, then people build the business.” This is so true.
