FISH STOCKING – Plan to take fish from 12 parks, including 4 freshly stocked ponds or lakes


Geauga Park District is excited to announce the stocking of the following ponds this spring:

 

  • Big Creek Park’s Chestnut Pond (straight as you enter the park) – 100 8-12” Largemouth Bass & 50 6-8” Bluegill
  • Big Creek Park’s Wild Goose Pond (left as you enter the park) – 100 8-12” Largemouth Bass & 50 6-8” Bluegill
  • Tupelo Pond in Big Creek Park (park entrance at 9373 Ravenna Road) – 100 6-8” Bluegill

 

A second round of stocking is also scheduled to take place this fall:

 

  • Beartown Lakes Reservation’s Lower Bear Lake (300 12”+ Rainbow Trout)

 

Stocking notifications are posted on the Park District’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.

 

Families are welcome to catch and take fish from waterways in 12 Park District parks as long as they have a current Ohio fishing license in accordance with state regulations.

 

Fishing locations and their inhabiting species, as well as any upcoming fishing programs, can be found at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org under Activities, then Fishing, which also includes a link to Geauga Park District’s Facebook group dedicated to sharing updates about fishing throughout the scenic Geauga parks.
