Geauga Bow with Cardinal to Offer After School Archery Club

Geauga Bow and Cardinal Middle School are teaming up to offer the county’s first after school archery club.

Cardinal middle school students will be filling the archery lanes at Geauga Bow and Outdoor Sports starting Tuesday, March 25, and Thursday, March 27, 2014 for their chance at some target practice.

“We are extremely excited to see our local youth take interest in the sport of archery and look forward to working with Cardinal School and parents,” says owner Thomas DeLong. This 8 week archery club is currently being offered for seventh and eighth graders after school from 3:30 – 5 p.m. Geauga Bow will be providing the lane time and offering traditional archery equipment for those students that lack their own, free of charge.

“Our archery lanes have been booming this season with customers of all ages. We have noticed an increase of youth participants and especially a rise in females participating this year. We hope to show students the fundamentals of archery and provide a fun after school program that they will go home talking about,” says DeLong.

Archery is a great sport for boosting mental and physical health and fitness. “The great thing about archery is that most equipment can be adjusted to the physical demands of the archer. It is really a sport that all ages and levels can enjoy. We hope to improve student’s focus, self confidence and teach them the importance of safety,” says DeLong.
