What could be better than entire buildings devoted to books? Nothing! We’re not the only people who would rather be at the library. The entire month of February is dedicated to library lovers. Although we celebrate libraries every day, we’d like to take the month of February to share how GCPL engages, connects, and inspires every day.

- Geauga West: Friday, February 1st from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Join us for an after-hours library open house where you can learn about all the library has to offer. Also, meet Pete the Cat and go on a winter story walk. Refreshments.
- Chardon: Friday, February 8th from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Library staff will have activities throughout the day for patrons of all ages, including drop-in appointments for help with ebooks and audiobooks, crafts, refreshments, and a very special appearance from Pete the Cat. No registration required.
- Middlefield and Mobile Services: Friday, February 15th from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Learn about our collections of books, movies, music, e-resources, and programs such as our 100-book challenge. Tour Mobile Services’ bookmobiles. Pete the Cat will be there, and so should you! Refreshments.
- Thompson: Saturday, February, 16th from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Learn all about our programs and materials. Refreshments and games.
- Bainbridge: Monday, February 18th at 5:00 p.m.

- Newbury: Saturday, February 23rd from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Stop in and find out all of the services your Newbury station has to offer. We’ll have games and refreshments for the whole family.
About the Geauga County Public Library
The Geauga County Public Library includes four full-service branches in Bainbridge, Chardon, Chesterland (Geauga West) and Middlefield, two library stations housed in schools in Newbury and Thompson, and a Mobile Services fleet that serves rural areas and community centers. Its administrative center is located in Chardon, where technical services, computer services, facilities and administrative functions reside. GCPL houses more than 750,000 books and digital books. The collection also contains more than 100,000 audio/video items. About 75 research databases are available via its website.
