The RUBY (Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance in Your advertising) Awards received a record 193 entries in 16 categories, and more than 250 industry members attended the luncheon at the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts Center in Springfield.

OTA is the largest travel and tourism industry association in Ohio including travel and tourism professionals representing hotels, restaurants, attractions and visitors’ bureaus. The RUBY Awards recognize advertising, marketing and public relations excellence in Ohio’s $38 billion travel and tourism industry.

Geauga County Tourism is thrilled to add another RUBY Award to their collection, having won in previous years for their Website, Social Media Campaign, and Visitor Guide. “This is a huge honor for Geauga County!” Lynda Nemeth, Geauga County Tourism Director commented, “We work with a relatively small budget by comparison to the majority of organizations, but we carefully choose what we feel is important to Tourism for our County and do the very best we can at what we choose to do, and I guess it paid off.”

Geauga County Tourism always uses local agencies when possible, keeping that tourism generated revenue local, and putting it back into the community. The newly designed app was created by tEkk3, an Internet and Marketing firm located in Newbury.

The App features maps, a directory of Tourism Members, ‘nearby’ suggestions, and even “Hot Deals,” making it a great resource for visitors as well as locals.
