GGP Board Chair John Epprecht announced today that Kimm Leininger will succeed Tracy Jemison as President of Geauga Growth Partnership (GGP) on July 1, 2019. In November Jemison announced to the GGP Board of Directors his intention to retire. John Epprecht said, “Kimm brings the leadership, knowledge and vision to lead this organization into the future. Her connections with our residents and businesses along with her love for Geauga County is what makes her right for this position.”
Tracy Jemison, former Geauga County Auditor and Geauga County Commissioner, was the successor on November 2013 to Frank Samuel who was the first President and a founding member of Geauga Growth Partnership. “I want to thank Tracy for his exceptional leadership, and passion during his six-year tenure,” said Epprecht. “Our organization has grown in membership and programs and has earned the respect of the business and educational community as a vital asset under Jemison’s guidance.”
Kimm Leininger has been the Executive Director of United Way Services of Geauga County for the past 16 years. While at United Way, Kimm has focused on engaging key community leaders and professionals in developing solutions that address the needs of local residents and the community. Kimm has led the United Way through several key changes.
Most recently, she has guided the organization on its path to becoming issue focused. United Way’s focus on improving the self-sufficiency of Geauga County residents has resulted in development of innovative programs and services. One such program, Bridges@Work, is not only supporting the local workforce and improving lives but is also providing positive resources for local businesses. In addition, Bridges@Work has garnered national recognition from organizations such as the FINRA Investor Education Foundation and United Way Worldwide.
When asked about her new role, Leininger stated, “I am beyond excited to have an opportunity to continue to serve Geauga County, our business community and our residents, through this outstanding organization. I know that I have big shoes to fill, both Frank and Tracy left their mark on this community and I look forward to continuing the great progress they made in strengthening the economic climate within Geauga County.”
Tracy Jemison shared, “I could not be more pleased than to have Kimm succeed me as president. We have been working together for years on initiatives to make Geauga County a great place to live and have a business. I cannot think of anyone else better to lead this organization to even greater heights.”
