Joined by nearly 100 local business owners, government officials, and community partners, GGP’s Board Chairman, John Epprecht, led the organization’s 2020 Annual Meeting via Zoom. Mr. Epprecht, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Great Lakes Cheese, informed attendees of progress made in 2019 including a banner year for both youth and adult workforce training programs. GGP, now with 189 members, proved today that their Board of Directors and staff are prepared to navigate new territory in order to provide the best service and support to local companies. GGP President, Kimm Leininger shared GGP’s Strategic Priorities as defined by a volunteer planning committee to include efforts within Grow (business and talent attraction), Guide (supporting the expansion of local businesses), Prepare (preparing the workforce of the future), along with goals to maintain GGP as a sustainable nonprofit organization.

GGP was fortunate again this year to have an exceptional Keynote Speaker, Mr. Christopher Mapes, President and CEO of Lincoln Electric. Mr. Mapes spoke about his views on the global economy, the critical importance of investing in your workforce, and the 125th Anniversary of Lincoln Electric.
