Now in our 14th year, Geauga County Job and Family Services is excited to once again be sponsoring Help Me Learn Day, a school supply distribution program for low income children and our agency foster children.
Last year, Help Me Learn Day served approximately 500 kids during our two distribution days. With the onset of COVID-19 and the financial impact it has had on many in our community, we anticipate the need could be even greater this year.
Although it will look different, the event will include two distribution days again this year. The first will take place at Geauga Co. JFS on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 and the second at Chagrin Falls Park Community Center on Monday, August 10, 2020. In order to keep families and staff safe, both these events will be curb side pickup only. Families must pre-register and demonstrate a financial need to qualify. Registrations begins July 1, 2020.
For more information on donating or to register for the event, please contact Sara Shininger at 440-285-9141, ext. 1263. Anyone wishing to donate will need to call and schedule a drop off time. Monetary donations are used to purchase needed supplies. Checks may be made payable to: Special Services of Geauga Co. and mailed to Geauga Co. Job and Family Services, 12480 Ravenwood Dr. Chardon, OH 44024.
