Geauga Lyric Theater Appoints New Executive Director

Erika hansenThe Geauga Lyric Theater Guild is pleased to announce the appointment of Erika Hansen to the position of Executive Director. Ms. Hansen formally assumed her duties on September 15. She succeeds Chris Cipriani, who served as GLTG’s first Executive Director from 2008 to 2014.

The GLTG Board received applications from many strong candidates. The thorough review process included a series of interviews as well as a discussion of anticipated challenges and future opportunities. GLTG has been producing community theater productions for 60 years and providing theater-related youth and adult education for almost as long. The nonprofit organization is in the process of transforming the historic theater and arts center building on Chardon Square into a creative hub offering a full spectrum of arts programming.

Ms. Hansen brings a passion for the arts, a love of community theater, and over twenty years of fiscal, administrative, operational, and management experience in nonprofit and for profit environments. She was the Founder and Executive Director of the Cape Ann Business Incubator in Gloucester, Massachusetts, an award-winning nonprofit organization created to support small business start-ups and nurture them as they grow. Ms. Hansen recently moved to Bainbridge with her family.

“The role of Executive Director of GLTG is a dream job for me – an exciting combination of arts programming, civic engagement, and growth,” Ms. Hansen said. “I have been very impressed with the quality and number of performances, workshops, and educational classes offered by GLTG and by its respected reputation within the community.”

”I am thrilled that Erika has joined GLTG,” commented Lee Ann Tamburrino, GLTG’s Board President. “Her background in solving the practical problems that organizations experience as they grow will be a great asset to GLTG. I am grateful for Chris’s many contributions to GLTG, and I am confident that Erika will also have a positive impact on GLTG and the community.”

The Geauga Lyric Theater is located at 101 Water Street on the historic Chardon Square. For more information or to purchase tickets go to the website or call 440-286-2255.
