“River Cruiser” Dragonfly Kayak
Sunday, July 19, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Eldon Russell Park
Paddle the river in hopes of seeing River Cruisers – large dragonflies that inhabit the Cuyahoga. Kayak experience required. All ages 12 and up are welcome if accompanied with an adult. Registration begins July 12.
Polliwog Paddle Family Canoe
Sunday, July 26, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Eldon Russell Park
An easy-paced, short-distance float on the wildlife-rich Upper Cuyahoga River for families. Feel free to bring your family and friends, ages 5+ with an adult. You can begin registering by phone for this event on July 19.
Kelso Full Moon Canoe
Friday, July 31, from 8:30 to 10 p.m. at Burton Wetlands Nature Preserve
Watch the “Blue Moon” rise over the beautiful waters of Lake Kelso. Basic canoeing skills required. This is also a CONNECT activity. Paddlers ages 10 and up are welcome, accompanied by an adult. Phone registration begins July 24.
Kayak LaDue
Saturday, August 1, from 9 to 11 a.m. at LaDue Reservoir
Search for waterfowl, eagles and other wildlife while paddling the waters of LaDue Reservoir. Basic kayaking skills required. Kayakers ages 12+ are welcome with an adult. Registration begins July 25.
Kelso Afternoon Canoe
Sunday, August 16, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Burton Wetlands Nature Preserve
Spend the afternoon floating on the cool waters of glacial Lake Kelso. Get a chance to see rare plant and animal life associated with this unique environment. Basic canoeing proficiency required. All ages 10 and up are welcome with adult supervision. Phone registration begins August 9.
Kelso Katydid Kayak
Sunday, August 16, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Burton Wetlands Nature Preserve
Enjoy a relaxing float on Lake Kelso and be serenaded by the insect orchestra as the sun sets. Basic kayak experience required. Floaters ages 12 and up are welcome with an adult. Registration will begin August 9.
