St. Mary School overflowed with grandparents and special guests in celebration of Grandparents’ Day. Donuts and conversations took over the halls as students buzzed with excitement to share their school as a part of this annual tradition.
The students prepared a special Mass celebration lead by the 6th grade class that included their special guests. The program concluded with each grade dedicating a special song to the audience.
The 2nd grade sang “God Bless our Grandparents” and the 3rd grade performed their original “Grandma and Grandpa” to the tune of “On Top Of Spaghetti.” Second grader Mikey Lawrence said, “It was fun! I ate 2 donuts and got to show my grandpa my classroom.”
Maureen Intihar, Development Director, said, “St. Mary School is fortunate to have many multi-generational families. Many of the grandparents who attended the event have been supporting the school since their children were students here. We are very lucky to have them!”
St. Mary’s School Chardon is a Catholic School for grades preschool through 8 where students are encouraged to develop academically in an environment of faith, with a vision for the future.
