Giggles ‘n Stitches 4-H Club Bring Home State Fair Awards

The Giggles ‘n Stitches 4-H Club worked hard this year on their clothing projects. The members each completed a project and project book in preparation for the Geauga County 4-H project judging and the Style Show held on July 15. Their hard work really paid off!

In the Sew for Others category, Graycen Wood received an Outstanding award, and was selected to attend State Fair. Ashlee Knittel was also awarded Outstanding and is the Alternate to State Fair. Elizabeth Sawyer won the Creative Costumes class. She was given Outstanding and State Fair awards. At the Ohio State Fair, Betsy was awarded Outstanding of the Day. In the Accessories for Teens category, Maggie Eibler took the Outstanding and State Fair ribbons, and Outstanding and State Fair recipient in Clothing for Your Career was Sheila Roberts.

In the category Sew Fun, Autumn Hamby received Outstanding and Alternate to State Fair, while Corrin Hamby and Elizabeth Cooper were awarded Outstanding. Katherine Baumgartner and Madison Thomas each received Outstanding in the Loungewear category. In the Dress Up Outfit Day Wear category, Sarah Miller received Outstanding and State Fair ribbons, Caroline Walker was awarded Outstanding and Alternate to State Fair, and Sarah Ward received Outstanding.

Outstanding and State Fair in the Tops for Tweens category went to Lillian Ostrander. Ashlee Knittel won the Senior Division of Best Modeling, and Sarah Miller was nominated for Master Clothing Educator’s Award, Senior Category.

The club is now working to design their fair booth for the Great Geauga County Fair which is held over Labor Day weekend. Their booth will be located in the Jr. Fair Building. Members will model their garments in a Style Show on Monday, September 1, at 2 p.m. in the Jr. Fair Building.
