Giggles-n-Stitches Sewing Club News

At the Giggles-n-Stitches 4-H club, everyone’s excited about sewing whether patterns, fabric, or learning new skills. This 4-H club is a group of girls who love to sew, meeting to discuss club business, and work on their sewing projects at least once a month at the Auburn Town Hall. They display the outfits they make each year at the Geauga County 4-H Style Review in July, the Geauga County Fair in September, and the Ohio State Fair.

Giggles-n-Stitches kicked off the sewing season with their first business meeting on February 16. During their second meeting, on March 16, the members elected their new officers for this year: Graycen Wood was voted President, Amy Dyke is the new Vice-President, Sarah Miller was re-elected Secretary, and Emily Walker will be Treasurer again this year. Sheila Roberts was re-elected News Reporter, Ashley Knittel was elected Hospitality Co-ordinator, Sarah Ward will serve as Junior Secretary, and Samantha and Zhen Hendrickson are the new Historians. Katherine Baumgartner and Madison Thomas were voted Health and Safety Officers.

Giggles-n-Stitches has about twenty members, and all are looking forward to doing some new sewing this year. The next meeting will be on April 27 at the Auburn Town Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. New members and visitors are always welcome! Please contact the Geauga County 4-H Office (440-834-4656) if you are interested in learning more.
