Geauga Lyric Theater Guild’s Youth Workshops begin their summertime performances with the teen production of Stephen Schwartz and John-Michael Tebelak’s Godspell. This energetic production, directed by Karen O’Baker Porter, kicks off the Geauga Theater’s live productions for the summer on July 19 and 20 at 7:30 p.m. and July 21 at 2 p.m. Featuring a variety of contemporary music styles explaining the parables of the bible, Godspell follows Christ and his disciples through a lighthearted yet thought-provoking spiritual journey.
The six week long workshop experience with director and musical director Ian LeRoy provides teens many opportunities to help shape the production with input on staging, choreography, set design, and costumes.
Performances are open to the public. Ticket prices for seniors/students are $5 and adults $8. Seats for this production are reserved.
The Geauga Theater Box Office is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Open Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or by phone at 440-286-2255. The Geauga Theater is located at 101 Water St. on the historic Chardon Square.
