Have You Ever Been To This Amazing Sledding Hill?

With the arrival of frigid temperatures and snow showers; it is time again for the fun to begin down at the Chardon Chalet Sledding Hill. Each year the opportunity to sled is provided for area residents and their kids by the City of Chardon.

Sledding in Chardon

The Chardon Chalet Sledding Hill is located at 220 Basquin Drive in the City of Chardon. Once the snow starts flying, the hill will be open to the public to enjoy each day for as long as the snow remains on the ground. In addition, the Chalet will be opened up for the public to warm up from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on non-school days. This year, a vending machine has been added to help warm you up with hot chocolate and coffee for $1.00. Parking is available for anyone who wishes to drive down to the hill and there is plenty of room for many to have fun sledding.

If sledding is not your preferred wintertime activity, there are also miles of trails starting near the Chardon Chalet Sledding Hill. The trails lead through the local woods and are ideal for a nice hike or cross-country ski adventure. For those looking for a little more adventure, there is even a bigger sledding hill, locally referred to as Ski Hill, back in the woods less than a mile hike from the Chardon Chalet Sledding Hill.

Kids Sled Riding

“Memories of sledding down at the Chalet Sledding Hill are some my fondest wintertime memories of my childhood,” said Jeff Campbell, a past childhood user of the hill. “Every kid should enjoy themselves during the wintertime break with some time down at the sledding hill.”

Local kids and their families are encouraged to stop down for some fun at the Chardon Chalet Sledding Hill.
