Thousands of Jewish children survived the holocaust as hidden children through the courageous efforts of many people during World War II.
On Friday, Jan. 22, Mr. Roman Frayman, shared his experience as a child during the holocaust with the sixth grade students at Notre Dame Elementary School. He shared his story of survival and his escape and life as a hidden child until the liberation eventually reunited him with his parents.
As a part of the English Language Arts curriculum, students have been studying the holocaust through different pieces of literature such as the Number of the Stars and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.
