Home Delivered Meal Drivers Needed in Geauga County

The Geauga County Department on Aging is in need of home delivered meal drivers. These volunteers, once trained, can deliver meals as a substitute (when the driver is available) once a month or as often as they would like. Many companies or civic groups send different individuals from their organization on the same day once a week or once month.

For instance, those groups who drive once a week can have one employee drive for the organization this Tuesday, a different co-worker drive the next Tuesday and each Tuesday after that until every volunteer driver has had a turn to drive. However, you determine your driving schedule.

The meal routes are delivered Monday through Friday and usually take between 1 ½ to 2 hours from start to finish. Just think, a couple hours of your time provides a nutritious lunch for 10 and 15 homebound seniors.

If you are 18 years of age or older, have a valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance, the Department on Aging needs your help.

To get involved, call the Geauga County Department on Aging at (440) 279-2130, (440) 564-7133 ext. 2130, or (440) 834-1586 ext. 2130.
