Honors and a Win for Chardon Toastmasters

Marilyn Harmon and Juel Leonard, members of Chardon Toastmasters, were honored at the Toastmasters District 10 fall conference held at Malone University in Akron Saturday, November 9, 2013. Marilyn was honored for her service to Toastmasters as Area Governor last year, and Juel for outstanding Communication level advancement in the last year.

Juel Leonard won the Table Topics completion for Impromptu speaking, with a humorous response and speech to the Topic “Defining Moments.” Juel had previously won the Club, Area, and Division contests to reach the District level.

The Chardon Toastmasters Club has a long and distinguished history in the development of its members into successful and confident speakers. For the last 10 years, it has been recognized as a President Distinguished Club and attracts members from Mentor to Mantua, and Chagrin Falls to Ashtabula. They meet every Thursday evening at 6.30 p.m. in the Chamber of Commerce Office, 111 South Street in Chardon.
